Re-Established – A shoot by Proper, ST95, Eve Kelly and Corben Lewis

Proper has been around for almost two decades now. What began as a DIY fanzine project eventually grew into a website, magazine, content agency and clothing brand.

As part of our commitment to recognising our roots, we’ve recently been working with emerging creative talent here in Manchester, introducing them to our own experiences. In return, we ourselves benefit from their fresh outlook, enthusiasm and skills. It’s a win-win situation that has yielded several impressive pieces of content so far, with more planned.

The most recent piece of work was created collaboratively between Proper, ST95, Eve Kelly and Corben Lewis.

Entitled ‘Re-established’ ST95 provided the garms for Eve and Corben to explore the former industrial heartland close to our base here in Manchester. The common theme revolves around ST95 having been brought back to life after two decades on the shelf, while the location itself is home to a buoyant, progressive community of largely creative millennials. Ancoats itself had a prolonged spell left unloved and unused having been established as the world’s first industrial suburb back in the 19th century.

Styled, directed and modeled by Eve and shot on film by Corben, it’s their interpretation of a brand with an increasing cult following, having been relaunched a couple of years ago. It was originally founded as a short-lived project by design genius Massimo Osti, soon after he departed Stone Island and C.P. Company, brands he founded years before.

Stay tuned for more of this sort of thing and if you like what you see, get in touch.
