I had a dream about Veras last night. Serious.
It was based on the set of the oh-so-realistic Salford soap opera Coronation Street. At first I couldn’t work out why on earth the likes of Tyrone and Kevin were sporting Veras shoes but then it dawned on me. It’s all in the names. First of all the brand name Veras used to be minus the ‘s’ and share its name with Jack’s Mrs. Then next season there are models called Granada and Betis. You might just assume it’s down to the Spanish influence but to me, Granada is where they make tv programmes, such as the aforementioned Corrie. And without wanting to stretch things too far, Betis Hotpot anyone?
Ok, now I’ve confessed to what lives in the bizarre catacombs of my sleep deprived mind, I’ll fast forward to the present day. The shoes I’ve described are for Autumn release. They look ace and I’ll come back to them nearer the time, no doubt either armed with more tenuous soap opera links or wholly ashamed that I somehow saw fit to align Spanish-Welsh footwear niceness with Emily Bishop and the gang.
For now, it’s a good time to share their Spring/Summer offerings with you.
Vibrant colours are the order of the day. Now that Christmas has been disposed of there’s just Valentines Day and Easter to worry about. Then it’s time for holidays. Or holibobs as dickheads call them.
Whether you’re holidaying or holibobbing you’ll inevitably find yourself short of some special summertime shoes and this is where Veras come in.
With more colours than a Smarties McFlurry, these represent something for everyone. A bit giddy if you’re a gruff northern chap like me but if you can’t be giddy on your holib.. sorry holidays then when on earth can you be giddy?
Get googling for a proper list of stockists, but as it states on www.verashoes.com the likes of Number Six in London and Oi Polloi in Manchester are regular stockists. Maybe the latter is a sign that my dream has some substance after all?
