Good design should be uncomplicated. All the best design people almost certainly agree with that. It’s one of Dieter Rams’ ten commandments (“Good design should involve as little design as possible”).
These Chaco Sandals fit the bill, being made from just 8 component parts. The fact they manage to be durable and smart while being so uncomplicated is testament to the thought that went into their inception, back in 1989.
Fast forward to 2021 (which my calculator tells me is 32 years later) and on the English south coast there’s a very clued up shop called Urban Industry selling said sandals.
