It’s no secret that adidas has a special knack for delighting the tastes of football fans in every corner of the globe. Since the dawn of ‘casual culture’ the brand has pushed out countless remixes of its perennial players to lads spanning every generation – the Samba, Gazelle, Handball Special and L.A. Trainer all spring to mind. Back in the ‘60s though, the sporting experts behind The Three Stripes caused dizzying fanfare with the release of the adidas ROM trainer. Playing the field to commemorate the start of Rome’s summer games, the simplified silhouette quickly won the hearts of football fans – home and away – across Europe.
Set to spike in the terrace narrative yet again, the latest ROM design is as classic as it is cool – of the ‘casual’ type, obviously. Recalling its OG framework, this white and green rendition is made from top-notch leather. The German brand’s signature T-toe rounds out the front of the shoe, while the iconic Three Stripes sit in serrated format in bottle green.
