The Barbour x Engineered Garments collaboration has been a truly phenomenal thing to happen to those of us who really, really love big jackets. It’s clear to see that both the main man at EG Daiki Suzuki and Barbour’s genius Gary Janes share our passion for large smothers as this coming together of two of our favourite brands has continued to prove. The SS19 collection is no exception and the dusky green Warby jacket could perhaps be their greatest piece so far. Though it sounds like a loaf of bread you’d eat only at weekends the Warby Casual is a military style smock that looks like it’s come straight out of Barbour’s hallowed Department B. Archive and firmly injected with some EG DNA. Like all the best smocks it’s got an oversized fit, raglan sleeves and has been given a hydrocarbon coating for added lightweight protection. I hope this collab turns into a more permanent, ongoing range as it’s without a doubt producing some of the best pieces both brands have ever done.
