Five Footwear Choices for Fall (ok Autumn)

You’ve been a bit more active this summer, and that’s to your credit. You’ve joined that run club and visited the gym a bit more than you expected. It’s been a healthy summer. It’d be a shame to let that drop off now the nights are darker. With that in mind, why not make your next footwear purchase something you can wear both to the gym and indeed to the pub?

New Balance Men’s Fresh Foam Hierro X V7 GORE-TEX Trainers – Raincloud
As the grateful recipient of a forerunner version of these (no pun intended), I’ll tell you now they’re a bloody splendid example of sports footwear. Merrell 1TRL Catalyst Pro 2 Men’s Shoes – Flashdance
With all brands falling over themselves to create technical footwear that looks like it fell out of John Connor’s Skynet gifting list, it’s refreshing that Merrell (themselves no strangers to futuristic shoes) are still comfortable putting out shoes that look right out of a 1987 catalogue.

Danner Men’s Panorama Mid Boots – Brown/Red
Nobody should ever need to make a case for Danner’s place at the top table of hiking footwear. Aside from their time-served role at the forefront of outdoor shoes, they consistently make sturdy boots that’ll serve you well whether you’re on the peaks or all dressed up in your Sunday best doing some Christmas shopping.
