Mizuno signs up Sergio Ramos

Japanese sporting goods brand Mizuno has signed a brand ambassador agreement with Sergio Ramos.

The transfer window may be closed for football clubs, but that doesn’t mean brands can’t still snap up big names. As a case in point, Mizuno have secured the services of Spanish bad boy defender, Sergio Ramos. The centre half won’t need any introduction to football fans after a trophy laden career with both Real Madrid and Spain, and now lines up with the glittering all star squad of PSG.

As you’d expect, Ramos will be turning out in a pair of Mizuno boots on the pitch. Specifically, the Morelia Neo Ⅲ β Japan, a football boot crafted in the land of the rising sun and based on the famous Kaizen spirit – the drive for continuous improvement. The boot is a modern interpretation of the iconic 1985 Morelia shoe, and is therefore the outcome of more than 35 years of research and development. This latest iteration is packed full of modern-day technologies to create a lightweight, flexible and barefoot feel. Ramos himself is impressed: “They just boast quality, in terms of the sensation of touching the ball, the lightness and fit.”

Sergio will also be donning Mizuno’s most important lifestyle footwear and apparel products off the field as well. He can be seen here rocking a pair of Sky Medal S, a trainer we’ve already documented our admiration for. If you’re looking for a pair of runners that balances perfectly a mix of tradition and innovation, these are the shoe for you.

Both the Morelia Neo Ⅲ β and Sky Medal S are available over on the Mizuno website.
