Pyrenex Launch AW21 ‘Born Above the Clouds’ Capsule

Outerwear institution Pyrenex presents its latest 1980’s sports-inspired AW21 capsule, featuring modern interpretations of classic items built around the brand’s core luxury commitments.

Pyrenex was founded above the clouds in France’s Pyrenees mountains back in 1859, and since then has continued to equip everyone in their signature outerwear and down jackets. 2021 sees Pyrenex’s range expand on the brand’s functional and hardy philosophy while blurring the lines between fashion and sport.

The capsule sees sportswear staples like polo shirts, fleece sweaters and single jersey t-shirts remastered with organic cottons and contemporary silhouettes. In addition, the brand’s vintage logo is rubberised in order to extend from the arm of the sweaters and the breast of the t-shirts.

Colour is given a design priority, as a rich red marks the collection alongside a firmer grey, navy and black.

The items are styled alongside Pyrenex’s Sten Down Jacket and John Down Gilet, both new for AW21.

To build on modern energy while keeping continuous with Pyrenex’s heritage grit, the capsule has been shot in the pool table lined backroom of a London pub, where three creatives are dressed head-to-toe in Pyrenex. Like a gift from above, the brand descends from the tip of the Pyrenees to equip those down below, in the backroom of a pool hall or on the urban streets.

The capsule is available at Flannels, in store and online.
