In Greek mythology, the Golden Fleece is the fleece of a golden haired, winged ram which represented a symbol of authority and kingship. It figures in the tale of the hero Jason and his merry band of well hard Argonauts, who set out on a quest for the fleece by order of King Pelias, in order to place Jason rightfully on the throne of Iolcus in Thessaly. Though in the cold light of 21st century reality the actual Golden fleece is New York brand Spiewak‘s high-end heritage line which reproduces the best bits from their expansive and impressive archive.
