Before this year I’d never been to Italy. As it turns out I’m back there next week, and it’ll be my third visit. It’s a flying visit though, a whirlwind, whistle-stop tour of Milan, Bologna and Venice, which owes more to our budget than some weird desire to tick off lots of new cities.
Anyway, a quirk of fate and the aforementioned shoestring budget means our only downtime of the entire 31 hour trip falls on Thursday evening in Milan. Inter are playing Sparta Prague. If our calculations are correct we may just be able to take in a game. Great days.
Just in time for that trip, Mike from Longshot popped in the office yesterday and came bearing gifts. I’ve now got this ace t-shirt to wear if I make it to the San Siro, and despite the cock on the chest (fnarr) it bears more than a passing resemblance to the Ronaldo-era Inter.
Following their ‘A Game of Two Hats’ capsule this summer, The Long Shot Exp. and Angelo Trofa got together to make this blue on blue, relief textured t-shirt just in time for Christmas and the half-chance I’ll get to go to Italy. The design utilises the graphic language created by Trofa for their previous project, this time in t-shirt form, referencing the aforementioned iconic football kit designs. Printed on super soft cotton rather than any of that ‘technical’ stuff, this is “sportswear led by aesthetics not athletics”, which I wish I’d said first.
The t-shirts are available in long sleeve and short sleeve versions now from www.thelongshotexp.uk.
