Stone Island’s experimental sub-brand Shadow project is widely recognised for its radical fabric creation and technical advancements, as well as its tendencies to gravitate toward the use of a more monochromatic colour palette. While the latter is not entirely true for this piece, the Glass Poplin Jacket truly inherits the archival traits of the sub-division. It’s a stunning example of the forward-thinking ethos held by Shadow Project as they continue to impress with undeniable innovation season after season.
The Glass Poplin Jacket is constructed using pure cotton with a topographic design that graces the garment. There’s an exterior Polyurethane Resin lining, giving both wind and water resistance. Two large pockets flank the main body of the piece while both a two-way YKK zip and branded press studs allow for easy closure. The collar offers pure versatility when it comes to styling, whether you opt for a funnel neck, smart collar or choose to unzip the packable hood to protect you from the elements. An adjustable Cuff and detachable Shadow Project Compass badge finish it off.
In the interior of the garment, there’s a warming down gilet in a neutral cream tone. Constructed using a Nylon exterior and a padded feather down, the gilet offers press stud closure with two roomy button-down pockets and is finished off with a subtle shadow project tab. The gilet and jacket can be worn in a variety of ways, using the classic Stone island harness system, the jacket can simply hang off your shoulders for quick access during indecisive spells of weather. Alternatively, the garments look equally as good as standalone pieces or combine to create a masterfully crafted piece that epitomises the brilliance of Stone island.
