Often, we’ll compile lists on here with a function or purpose in mind, but this one is purely to cheer yourself up with some retail therapy. With the world seemingly in turmoil, who really even cares about trainers? Well, if it provides some light relief from the madness happening right now, it can’t do us any harm, can it?

As previously pointed out, NB’s Protection Pack is relevant to our interests. This dark shoe could easily be decorated with cobwebs and silly string and fit your Halloween vibes. Obviously, you’re not going to do that though because you’re not a child.

With the big hitters of sports footwear seemingly switching things up, it leaves brands like Mizuno to fill a slightly larger gap than they previously could enjoy. Makes it much easier for them to do so when they get their Wave Rider Beta so on point.

Karhu Fusion XC Trainers
Another so-called challenger brand, Karhu have been doing their thing for decades, famously selling the three stripe logo to adidas. In its place a subtle M logo emerged, with the M representing the word Mestari, the Finnish word for Champion. This version of the Fusion somehow seems chunkier than before, which is ideal for winter.

This Slovakian brand will always have a space at our top table of footwear brands. We’re fortunate to have visited their factory a few years back and seen how and where they construct their footwear, largely just the same as they always have, using age-old machinery. It’s pretty compelling.
