Inspired by the excellent Pica Post article on the four pocket parka we decided to delve into this era of the great American outdoors and one of the classic ‘DIY’ brands that emerged from this scene, Kelty.
So any-way, being Stockport’s answer to Karl Lagerfeld and Gok Wan, we headed over to Paris last weekend to check out the Capsule and Rendez-Vous trade shows. Something neither of us thought we’d ever end up doing but since issue ten of the mag has blown everyone’s socks off and very nearly sold out in just a month. We decided it’s time to take this clothing lark seriously, well as seriously as we can be.
The third issue of the excellent Rig Out Magazine features some of the greatest garments money can buy, and a genuine record breaker. In these times of cyber show offs and every man and his goldfish blogging about clothing, it’s refreshing to see people doing things the old fashioned way for all the right reasons. It’s far from a gimmick or a point of difference thing though. The Rig Out 3 is put together by clued up people who appreciate real things of integrity and substance and that shines through.
According to Pete Beale (or is it Steve?) Posing fuckers like us aren’t making up for a poverty stricken childhood where we had to be rock hard and/or dead funny to avoid getting crucified for wearing snide Walker trackie bottoms instead of proper Tacchini ones (though personally I didn’t have either).
